No they are not, and in not requesting the good will payment of the others they are trying to put themselves in a better light. No point acceepting something that might have to be returned, and maybe at more cost.

The atmosfere at Upton Park wasnt always good. I started going when Greenwood was the guvnor and some matches he got slated by the fans. And in the sixtys and seventys you got the thugs moving in and fucking thins up. Going away was mucked up by the train travel cunys what used to snash up the trains and then you was met by old bill and marched to the ground. Couldnt blame them for treatinfg us like animals cos thats how a lot of them behaved. The we started getting the NF geezers outside the ground but that stopped sharpish when there recruiting bloke whose name was Martin Webster was found out to be a nonce who just wanted.to get inside young boys pants. When the team played shit at the old ground atmosfere was shit when they played good so was the buzz. Same as now.

Always the same aint it . Crowd always makes more noise if the teams playing well.

I have always said that to my kids.A REAL atmosphere.Them Cup gamess(especially night games)/Derbies/Liverpool/Man U at Upton Park were brilliant.When I think of my favorite times,they are them..When it become all seater,it was sh*t,apart from one or 2 games.

It did help that we did have one or 2 good teams back in time too to generate the atmosphere.I do remember the big games.Fans singing outside before the game and has soon has you got in,you were singing to the opposition fans.

The best times following West Ham in the 70s and 80s.

It'll happen eventually..... ESL's lawyers arguing against UEFA's market monopoly, which does have legal grounding from what I understand.
It'll end up like boxing with umpteen "European champions" each season.
