Whiskyman wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 4:42 pm Everyone knows the squad is pretty threadbare but tbh I don't see too many players arriving in the summer unless we can pick up a few bargains like Coufal & Soucek from places like the Czech league.

One thing I find a bit scary is how low our matchday income is compared with, for example, Spurs. The figures for 2018/19 show our matchday revenue as £27 million compared with Spurs who generated £71 million. I know Spurs had extra matches because of their CL run that season but our attendances were, I think, slightly higher than Spurs so surely we should be able to generate an income stream closer to Spurs levels. I've no idea what Spurs ticket prices are in comparison to ours but surely that can't tell the whole story.

Our commercial income is also way behind them. About 1/3 in fact. Again sponsorship and so on with their European exposure is part of the reason but our £36 million compared with their £109 million kind of suggests we should be striking more lucrative partnership deals on the commercial side.

We're also well behind them on broadcasting income to the tune of £73 million. That is something we can't do a lot about unless by some miracle we can snatch a CL qualification place out of the fire but overall I would have hoped a club getting, when we were allowed crowds, around 60,000 every home game should be closer to it's nearest geographical rivals in turnover, shouldn't it ?
I think someone is telling porkies.....simple maths shows that the matchday ticket revenue quoted divided my PL games played at home, (19) . What is the average price of a ST....from highest priced to lowest....maybe 500 quid,......divided by 19 home games..works out about 26 quid per game........60000 supporters per home game....works out at 30 million...there or there abouts what you quoted...so Spurs are charging double for their tickets....is that correct?
They are published figures Andy, so I assume they’ve been audited. Spurs would have had the benefit of their CL games to add in but as you point out the difference is massive.

You have to ask the incompetent idiots running our football club mate.

GK: Randolph OUT, Kovac IN
DC: Balbuena OUT, new defender IN (aged between 22 to 24)
RB: Fredericks OUT, New Right Back that was mention in C&H but forgotten his name) IN
DM: None is OUT but need 1 new DM to cover Soucek and Rice
AML: Anderson OUT, got Benrahma and Masuaku but could get new AML
AMC: Lanzini OUT., Lingard IN
SC: 2 strikers which one of them from Slavia Prague name beginning with H (one permanent and one on loan with a view to buy permanent due to very high cost of transfers)

All in All

OUT:

Randolph, Martin
Balbuena
Anderson
Lanzini
Possible Masuaku
Fredericks

That 7 in total or 6 if Moyes want to keep Masuaku.

IN

GK Kovac
New RB
New DC
New DM
New AMC
New AML/AMR
New Strikers x 2

That 9 players we needed IN to fiill in the gaps.

Moyes - MIND THE GAP please
Fredericks really ? , thought he has performed well when given the chance this season ( was never a RB ) , further forward . And why no LB ? Dont actually think Cresswell has performed well there this season , he is much better as the left sided CB in a back three with Masuaku in front of him ( though for me Masuaku doesn't offer enough in the final third but that is another subject .

Agree with the outs Ibby, the only problem is that the money they bring in is a pittance for what we need.....

Randolph, 1 m
Martin Free out of contract
Balbuena Free out of contract
Anderson 10m (if we are lucky)
Lanzini 10 m
Possible Masuaku 7m
Fredericks 3m

31million..... for 7 players above, on top Lingard is at the end of his loan.....that reduces our already light squad down to 15...9 players short of a full squad.

We paid just over 22 million each for 2 championship players...who imo are really just average.....what are we going to get for 31 m..,+ what pittance Sully reluctantly has to fork out. We need quality players, to get Lingard in is going to cost 20-25 m, that leaves us fuck all to finance the other 8.

I can see a couple of loans from England and another couple from other leagues.

I am really looking forward to the transfer window I have a feeling it is going to be a real comedy show. The sad part about it is that they will want to to sell Declan to finance the transfers required that will be a disaster for us next season and if we qualify our trek into Europe....

Problem is likely to be that in order to sell something, including footballers there has to be a buyer willing and able to pay the price you ask. And imo there ain't going to be pots of money sloshing around this summer. We saw with the Haller transfer that prices have dropped significantly since Covid. OK I know we paid way over the odds for Benrahma but that probably has more to do with the people responsible for handling our negotiations,.

You could be right, it is all IF and BUT and whether our 2 dwarfs can push us to another level otherwise a backward step like in 2016.

Totally agreed as I think we only going to get 1 or 2 players in permanently and another 2 or 3 on loans with a view to buy like we did with Soucek and Benrahma. Strikers is always a gamble so better to get 2 strikers on loan first to see if they fit in our systems and if it goes well, then we can buy them permanently options as we wasted too much money on various strikers without success.

50m to spend plus any European Cup bonuses and positional bonuses, we need to get rid of Anderson and Lanzini plus a couple of others that aren't up for scratch.

Good Quality Striker is average between £30M to £40M.

Moyes also looking for DM cover for Rice and Soucek

What I heard those 2 dwarfs borrowed £40M from Gold Holdings Ltd owned by David Gold which this may be the transfer fee. I may be right or wrong but we need to get rid of dead wood players like Anderson, Lanzini first hopefully early and successful, not in last minutes
