Memories always bad but that stuck with me.

remember Pyschos 4 goals at WHL. I was there that night. What a night.
I had to work..Back in September 1981..Was on lates...I never knew the score and I ran all the way home wanting too know..I couldn't believe it when I got in.

Went a couple of games later to see us top the League v Stoke City(W 3-2)..Those were great days

That's when football was football and West Ham was West Ham.
Remember the West Ham way in those days - abuse the opposition keeper all the first half but when he ran out to his goal after half time, everyone on the crowd in the South or North bank clapped and gave him an ovation. Every game.

We were top of the League after 6 games,but why was it more surprising than it should have been?

Very true.

Always applauded the away keeper,who would always give us a wave to show his appreciation.
