They were numbered tickets required in a random order to stop tickets being ripped out and resold
Trust you to play the game
Yeah.....good game though.....loved going in the late 80s and early 90s but used to hate having to carry the little ticket books

It was good fun guessing which number the match would be as you never knew till you got to the turnstile

    I still have them actually.
I don't know about the special sections but West stand was A, B, C,etc to halfway and the AA, BB, CC etc

So what we've established by all this is that as a West Ham 'fan', numbers is a proper cunt that no-one would want to sit near at the Boleyn or talk to in the Black Lion etc.

Remember knocking quite a few dodgy chicken run season ticket holders out years ago.

So you’ve already met Numbnuts then?
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

Wouldn't know about row numbers in the seats. I always stood. North Bank to start, South Bank for a fair few years and then Chicken run until seats went in. Still have the little certificate they gave after the last standing game (Soton).

Was sad to have to move to seats...I sat in the East Upper after that but even nowadays I still prefer standing at away games which is the norm.
