I only saw the second half to be fair so I can’t comment on what went on beforehand but Brentford appeared to cut through our midfield at will , the final ball letting them down mostly .
Coventry ain’t no Souc or Dec deputy that’s for sure .

Neither is Lanzini unless we’re playing Burnley or Brentford.

Oh and I know it’s only preseason , but going back to my first paragraph…
Noble ain’t getting any better .
Bring back Jonathon !

Coventry played further forward second half and whilst he is nowhere nearly ready for regular selection he is, at least, imo a decent player to bring in as cover. Certainly an upgrade on Noble who seems to be the go to man if either of those two are missing.

The most worrying thing to come out of that friendly is that a promoted club has a deeper squad than ours.

1 experienced sub and 2 goalkeeper subs in a pre season friendly is laughable.

And we are to compete on 4 fronts, do me a favour.

You got a good point.

It`s always been a worry to us since the last season..We need a few more in.

We were quite lucky with injuries last year,we might not be so lucky this time round.

As much as I agree with you in the main, weren’t we missing Coufal, Soucek, Rice and Yarmalenko from the squad still?

Agree we do need to beef up the squad. But the domestic cups don’t make much of a difference imo. The F A cup games are weekend games so are only really a replacement for the normal league fixtures, at least in the early rounds. And the Mickey Mouse cup will be an opportunity for the squad players to stretch their legs.

And apart from the 3 obvious suspects Masuaku is on his way back.

As are Ogbonna and Bowen.

I have to say after watching highlights of the game wasn’t impressed with Brentford chucking themselves on the fucking floor at every opportunity.
An annoying “tactic “ used by quite a few managers.

A lovely strike from Benny.

So a few injuries during the season, will show the deficiencies in the squad. Your 4 above + Bowen, Ogbonna & Masuaku. That is I make 23 senior players 4 of them goalkeepers!
