Don't know what UEFA have to do with this tbh, I thought it was a FIFA initiative. Presumably if the world cup was every 2 years the European championships, African cup of nations and Copa Libertadores would be replaced by the extra world cup ?

If it was done like that I wouldn't personally have a problem with it as there would still only be 2 major international tournaments every four years but if they tried cramming it into the years where there currently aren't any it would cause chaos, not least because of all the additional qualifiers which would be needed.

Didn't they introduce the Champions League(which I actually like)?
Maximum played when old European Cup : 9 games
Played now in Champions League : 13


Didn't they introduce the Europa League?
Max played when UEFA Cup : 11 games
Played now,Europa League :15

Let's not forget the qualification rounds for some..Fulham played 21 games on the way the Final one year.

European Championship qualifiers before 1996 :8 games,occasionally 6
Played now :10 Games.

Nations League(new competition introduced a few years ago))At least 6 games,if you reach the Final:9

Conference League(new competition)..See Europa League.
