But you know what … he looked around for options when he received the ball , there wasn’t a lot of team mates offering themselves up for support apart from Antonio , they were all grateful for a point as was I .

Going by his reaction I reckon he meant it. If it was CR7 or suchlike it would be touted as a wonder goal. But Mendy helped by doing what every schoolkid goalie is told not to do. Never get beat on your near post.
