Apparently we didn't show we wanted him enough. Now read into that what you like.

Nope, it was Moyes that did not want the wage structure broken
Where did you hear that? All sorts flying around. Another is that Moyes and the board have had a lovers tiff over not getting Lingard.
Whilst my contact in the club is generally rubbish at telling me any transfer news, they will tell me what went on after.

No noise regarding a tiff. Both parties want good prospects who are playing a high level now not older players (generally)

Funnily enough that's exactly what I heard. I've been told he agreed he would sign, terms had been agreed, then Forest came along and offered him more money, a phone call was made saying I still want to sign but more money please, and he was told to do one.

Whether that is true or not I don't know but it is one of my (usually) more reliable sources. Reliability being based on what I'm told what's going on compared with what actually happens. But this one I guess we'll never know.

Just a thought if someone's got a lot of time on their hands I think it would be fun to have a click bait table based on rumours spread by the likes Of Gonzo , his scottish mate and the X factor, to name three. There's enough of the cunts out there to make a league table, all we need is someone to collate all the figures.

It is indeed what happened. He got the offer from Forest and asked West Ham to match it. We (rightly) refused so he went to Forest despite promising to sign earlier in the summer. Will stay a year and piss off to the USA.

Well then he is better off at Forest, we are hardly desperate for a quick fix. We need someone more permanent, risk or not. He would have been nothing more than an expensive loan deal.

Exactly right, he probably already had a prior agreement with Rooney to join DC next season. So for him it was simply maximising a year financially and playing (guarranteed) the season out with a bit of style and panache.

West Ham took the unusual position of saying he doesn't represent value, when a quick comparison with the others available for that position, might suggest he actually exceeds it.

Of course it's possible Lingard will be anonymous at Nottingham Forest and influence their eventual relegation - somehow I doubt that

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see it as unusual. We need a striker that is going to be .nailed down for a few years considering Moyes, what ever others might believe, use of Lingard. I reckon had got him the chances of us seeing a striker were slim. The ball for sccsvcsamacca started rolling pretty quick as soon as it was known where Blingard was going. Ok we might be spunking money down the pan not really knowing what Scamacca will turn out like but that's the gamble you take with many.
