Everton vs West Ham Official Match Thread

Post by Ibbyham »

Hope we will play a better performance alongside better ref and VAR. Not sure if we can continue our winning form away at Goodison as this place is oneo f the dullest place to go and not a happy ground for us despite our last 2 wins over there and Lampard will want to punish us. Only positive front that we have almost a full squad to pick from with only Aguerd out until November/December or even January and Ben Johnson out until after the international break.

I have serious question on Moyes ability as some players are wanting out of the club and if no positive result in the next 5 games, then a change in manager could be on the card. Moyes need to do better and try to use youth player to be more involved like Ashby for instance as Coufal is a bit out of form so need a fresh legs.

Squad

Fabianski

Coufal
Zouma
Kehrer
Cresswell

Soucek
Rice

Bowen
Paqueta
Fornals

Antonio

Need to start picking up points to get out of bottom 3 as this season remind of me of 1994-95 season of struggles. Please no slow start and start performing at top level from the first to the last whistles.

Good intro Ibby
Worrying times, our away form since Jan 1st is absolutely atrocious
Played 11
Won 2
Drawn 1
Lost 8

7 points from a possible 33 not a good return but consistent .
We have become too predictable playing the same set up of 4-2-3-1, in fact your set up is the exactly the same as we used against them both matches last season. Just 2 changes as well, 1 being a central defender and Pacman in for Benny otherwise exactly the same players.
We have only scored 3 goals after 6 games and just 1 clean sheet.
This has got to be an opportunity against a side who have ground out 4 draws from their last 4 games.
We are not producing enough chances and what few we are aren't being converted, maybe Pacman can alter this.
Personally I would change the shape to a 4-4-2 .
We don't want to loose this one I would like the whole 3 points but I fear it will be a draw.

We should take advantage of the situation but are we even capable ? , I would say our squad is , but not our coaching staff  .

Everton haven't won a game this season and they are home. Basically draw specialists.

Be interesting to see how energenic the team start. DM won't want to lose this one, however the cautious approach seems to be less successful this season.

I would not want to be a manager in the bottom three with a two week international break.

Perhaps he won't be...

Now, now ladies let's take a deep breath and reflect a while before rushing to judgment. The football gods have to be obeyed so we must consider the facts.

Everton haven't won a game all season. They are being described as a crisis club who are seriously in need of a lift to kick start their season. Lampard is very short odds to be the next manager to depart his job.

So what is the cure for their malaise ? A visit from West Ham is just what the doctor ordered. Our illustrious history is festooned with examples of our generosity of spirit on such occasions. Offer me a draw now and I'd bite your arm off. Nailed on defeat. Always happens.

Play as they did against Silkeborg, it will be a hammering.

Not at all optimistic.
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

formation of 4-4-2 is my favourite for the home games and 5-3-2 in away games.

A 9-0 drubbing did for Scott Parker.

While we obviously won't plumb those depths, would you take a royal stuffing if it marked the end of the hapless jock ?

2-0 Everton.

That's a quandry, I never want us to lose, and I would tolerate but not like the present system if we got results. But they don't seem to appear. As for a stuffing, we ain't got to turkey time yet so no , but I think the best we will get is a draw. That might give Moyes leeway, not in my eyes, but anything less then I think the board need to start thinking what they expect fr this season.

Well Moyes has his excuses set up no doubt, let's just see what happens.
