 Nice jackpot.
I used to work all round the country and whenever I told people where I was from there was a lot of them telling me how they used to go southend for their holidays. Thought it was just popular with Londoners back in the day but these people I spoke to were as far away as Manchester.
Tots back in the day 🤣
Decent Nightclub and plenty of crumpet. ;)

It's been pretty good, though the VAR wasn't too clever at the start of the tournament.

Haven’t watched every game by.any means but haven’t seen too many Mike Dean moments————until just now in the Argentina game. Silly pair of Dutch sods, but justice was done.

Remember when I was a kid my old man used to drink in the Princess Alice in Forest gate and they organised a trip to Southend on a boat which left from Tower pier. It unloaded at the end of Southend pier and then carried on across the estuary to Margate. Bloody great trip and the booze on the boat back was flowing and I remember my mum giving the old man grief for letting me indulge in a couple of beers. Shame they don’t do those trips regularly now.
They should def bring that back. Liking the idea of a booze cruise
Apparently back in the day they used to run every weekend in summer. No idea why they stopped them. Probably didn’t attract the punters anymore. Shame.

I heard, and it is just a rumour, that a captain Palerider hijacked it a year or two back and is now being used in the trafficking of illegal Albanian immigrants into the uk.....
But don't quote me on this

Probably H&S red tape. If I win the lottery though, I’ll look into starting that up again 😃

My short to midterm memory is quite poor tbh so can’t point out any bad decisions except the pen for Portugal v Uruguay yesterday. That was never a pen imo

I would have to agree. And.the penalty Argentina got tonight was a bad call too imo. The onfield ref bottled it imo. He should have stuck to his original decision and told his fellow Dutchman on VAR to do one. Justice was done though as Messi’s penalty was saved.
