He has shown no evidence in his tenure here that he knows exactly what he is doing, his new bit of fluff probably knows more.
Maybe , but somehow the Real Housewives of Theydon Bois doesn’t have the same ring to it does it ?
2006, our 1st season back in the prem with Pardew. Finished 9th if I’m not mistaken. Fuck knows why I remember that coz there’s lots of seasons I don’t remember our finishing position
Well reckon you can safely say it was somewhere near the lower end of the table, think we forget the crap years more than the good ones. Most will remember the 85/86 season and we won nowt then. The hardest part is picking out the good ones. That's when only the cup years get remembered, but not league positions. Guess it's the exceptions that get remembered and the norms all merge to be forgotten.
I'm probably in the minority but 1985/86 pisses over every season before or after imo. Cup wins are a great day out for the fans and I enjoyed both 75 and 80, but 85/86 was special. Around Christmas time we realised we had something really special going. Every match meant something right up until the last but one match, at West Brom, when, because Liverpool won their game, our championship hopes died. A season like that, for me at least, is worth more than an F A Cup win because it reflects the true ability of a team over a long season. A cup win is great but you only have to win half a dozen games, against opposition of assorted quality, to achieve it.

I would like to think and hope that Daniel Kretinsky will have a big influence on who our next manager is?
But why would you expect Kretinsky to have a more comprehensive knowledge of the manager market than the dwarf ?
You would have thought DK would do his homework with his Advisors and do a bit more planning, wouldn't you?Nobody can be sure, but it's got to be better than how DS does his business.

You’d hope sp. But I’d bet that DK’s advisors are more clued up on economic trends than they are on footballing ones.
Time will tell I guess.

I actually enjoyed 1981 a lot more tbh.We walked the 2nd Division, got to a League Cup Final and we were in Europe too.Believe it or not,our average home Attendance was over 6,000 higher in 1981.The crowds didn't pick up till the last 3 or 4 games. It was really exciting the last few games,if only we wouldn't have started the season so badly, winning just one of the first seven games.

I went to a lot of games in both seasons too.
My highlight of 1981 was an unbelievable trip to Tbilisi. We played ome good stuff but usually the opposition was so fucking crap we went to games expecting to win, which we usually did. Apart from when we played Luton of course.
