Now, with all the shit going on I have some extra time on my hands, so I now want to do what I should have done 50 years ago and that is learn to play guitar from beginner level.
Now I`m well aware that the web is full of sites but I`m looking for a recommendation from someone who has used and learned from a particular site rather than look from site to site.

Morning, and what a beautiful morning it is.
Thanks for your help.
BTW, I`m the bollocks at air guitar.
Might be easier to get some beginners books...you can take your time looking at and learning the
basic Chord structures...just till you can start to move from one chord to another, takes a while,
but it comes...slowly but it comes...patience is the key..
Get hold of a Guitar tuner...always keep it tuned...otherwise you can be hitting the right places
but it sounds like crap...
I say books cos you spend your whole time looking at your fingers and fretboard...it's a bit easier
if you have the Chord fingering placements alongside...save looking up at a screen, and back down
again...
but very much trial and error find out what works best for you...cos watching someone helps,
so mix it up a bit.
If you've never held a guitar...best to hold a few,if you can, feel the strings, some have a very high
action...means the strings are further away from the fretboard, meaning you have to press down
harder in cases, makes it harder to play...and hurts the fingers...
so a beginners guitar first...there's tons of advice on the web, bout all that.
Have a hunt around youtube, when you have the basics down...theres some really good lessons..
This guy is great Marty...really funny bloke as well....
Good Luck...
Learn some scales first would be my advice. Just YouTube basic guitar scales and get them nailed. Then practice a couple of basic chords.
Think of song you would like to learn and download the tablature for it.
Then just practice practice practice.
Good luck.
