I grew runner beans, chili's, strawberries, raspberries, lots of herbs and rocket last spring/summer. Given me a real taste to grow more.
Funny you mention Chillies , only today We sewed 6 batches of the hottest chilli seeds I could source and we already have tons of garlic and onions that have been in the ground for about 6 weeks already.
Lots of digging and weeding to come between now and the spring though .
Some worked, some didn't for me, I tried carolina reapers, but no fruit. I started the plants indoors and moved them outdoors. I don't think we have the weather to grow hot chili's outdoors and I don't have a greenhouse. I was given some seeds from my friends in Spain for some lovely chili's that I've had the pleasure to eat, not sure I will get them to grow properly.
If you're going to plant things then the Jamaican herb plant is the daddy. I was down the allotment for 9 weeks before the police turned up with sniffer dogs. By that time I'd grown dreads was fully conversant in Jamaican pattwa, consumed large amounts of rum and ate jerk chicken by the kilo.
