"have a little poll amongst your family and friends"? Really?
I would imagine most families would share broadly similar political views. And friends, perhaps to a lesser extent, would be the same. People would naturally mix with like-minded people. So a poll amongst those people would serve only to reinforce the beliefs you already had. Not challenge them.
You say you struggle to find anyone who doesn't trust Johnson other than those on here, the press/media, and the Labour Party.
So in addition to those reasons given above, all of us on here have been brought together due to a common interest in West Ham, not a common interest in politics. Here you will likely find a broad spectrum of political views. So therefore it's highly like many will have a different political view to you.
As for press/media, keep in mind most media is run by right-wing billionaires running organizations that would normally tow tow party line. But the fact that those organizations are turning on Johnson could be seen as telling, don't you think? ;)
And as for the Labour Party..........no shit Sherlock!!

As for the public liking Johnson, there are two points to consider.
1. Johnson told the public what the public wanted to hear. Therefore it's only natural that they put their support behind him. But to continue to be liked he needs to deliver on those promises.
2. It's not only true to consider how popular he was. You also need to consider how popular his opposition were. And he was up against Jeremy Corbin and Dianne Abbot. Let's face it Screaming Lord Sutch and his mum could have beaten those two.

I called him "a self-serving, power-hungry, incompetent, egotistical liar". And you say you don't agree with that.
So let me take just the last word in my description of him, 'Liar'.
Do you disagree with this statement? Do you think he is not a liar. Do you think he has not lied to you.
And please don't come back with the "All politicians lie" statement. That's not what I am asking. I am asking if you believe Johnson has not lied.
(And by lies, I'm not talking about the odd incorrect statement. I mean multiple, blatant lies).
Oh dear have the Brmm brmms stopped racing ?
Comedy gold!!

The only people I can find that dislike and don't trust Boris are on here G...TBH.....the Press/Media, Labour party etc give
it the big one..hounding and so on (whats new) ..but the most important, the Public, on the whole seem to like and get
him..hence the Election results..

Always say to people have a little poll amongst your family and friends, see what they think and say,in things like this.

Personally I don't think he is what you say...But Politics is unfortunately partly built on Backstabbing and two timing,
as it is a lot in life..he's no worse or better than anyone.
Ummm...Sorry mate but I think you're wrong. How's the Tory party doing in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland? Are any of those countries 1st ministers Tories? No. No they're not.

Three quarters of the Union have rejected Tory leadership so what does that tell you? It tells you that outside of England Boris isn't liked at all, it's just that the first past the post electoral system doesn't really reflect the will of the people. How is it fair that one party can get a million votes only to win a single seat in Parliament, when another with let's say one hundred thousand votes wins 5 times as many seats?

More people vote against the winning party than for it. Only twice since 1935 has a party formed a government with the majority of cast votes and therein lies the problem. Boris got his nice fat majority in 2019 only because, with the voters feeling disenfranchised and having no practical alternative to Corbyn, one in three people in England voted tactically. Had they not then the outcome would have been very different.

Whilst obviously this is a failing of the Labour party and not Boris it does highlight the shortcomings of first past the post as the tactical vote in England basically nullified the popular vote outside of it.

I digress but my point is if you take off your home counties tinted spectacles you would see that Boris is not very well liked at all. Just as a snapshot - Manchester 5 MPs 0 Tory, Liverpool 4 MPs 0 Tory, Leeds 8 MPs 3 Tory, Birmingham 8 MPs 2 Tory. These are big population centres outside of the South East of England and certainly aren't reflective of much love for Boris Johnson.
Ahh Twisting stats bill.....you Talk PR then say 75% aren't Tory Minded and don't want them..But 44% of public actually
voted for them, and in a PR system SNP would have about 3 seats in Parliament...
Even a Scottish PR system would give the Tories an extra 10 seats or so and lose the SNP the same...can't have cake and
eat it mate.
Poss as well if Ruth Davidson had stayed as leader...no way would SNP get anywhere near percentage of vote 45%
They get.
(Same as Tories get by the way,Ones an overwhelming majority, the other according to some shouldn't allow you
to Govern)
A PR System in Wales would give the Tories 3/4 more seats with their 36% over Labours 40% which is 90% from the
south of country.
The Tories have taken seats that were impossible 5/6 years ago...that goes way beyond the Corbyn effect....
if it was the Corbyn effect then how much more proof do we need this country doe's not want a Socialist based system.
Even what were Hard Core Socialists have turned against a left leaning Labour party........Why....
Have they all become Thatcherites over night...No.....it's the Boris effect.

Don't disagree tho should be maybe some kinda electoral reform...Greens get 70% of SNPs total...
SNP have 48 seats Greens 1....that's not right......Maybe time to adjust the Lords so a reflection of vote can be seen
there...I don't want Hung Parliaments...whereby 4/5 parties can group together and vote a minority Government down
for their own political gain.

End of the day however you break it down 365 outta 650 available seats is a big enough Majority to say this country
the UK wants a Conservative Government.

Home Counties tinted Specs..... ..Nice one....

If it helps anyone’s argument, I never voted until the referendum and the last election. I voted tories purely for the fact I didn’t want Corbyn in.

As you were

Mate it's quite logical..ask other people how they feel...can't go walking down high street...well yer could I spose.....
Easier to ask those closest to you......I get to travel round country a fair bit.. well did.and enjoy talking to people and get
opinions and have come up with mine.....was in Scotland before last referendum....no way were they voting leave....even in
Glasgow,very split....Press/Media again,misleading people...
I find people that are against something have "Louder voices" and more to say than those that accept and agree with
something....
250,000 people march thru London Shouting this that the other....WOW.......it's a third of 1 percent of the population, but
Press/Media and others go....THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN.....

I've posted something to Bill which covers some of my take,so wont bore you again...

Lyings ....not good.....But needs to be defined...we Tell White Lies to protect people, some statements are misinterpreted
for various reasons....we Make mistakes....we change our minds....we don't want people to know our private affairs...
goes on..

I'll ask you a question...would you want to be PM of this country at the present time....a perfect storm of events...
Difficult aint the word...

Personally I think we need to embrace them.
I recently swapped my four bedroom terrace for a tent, 600lb of plantain, and a car load of yams.
Ondukwe my new friend from Chad, also swapped me his Brazilian 1970s shirt and his £200 Nike trainers for my 55inch wide-screen telly and sound bar. Fucking damned hospitable these blokes, I tell ya.
Love a cup of Rosey I do.

Indeed my learned friend.

I was annoyed at first but when Ahmed and Imran moved in either side of me I eventually converted to Islam out of respect. Lady P got rat arsed last night so I've had to publicly whip her on the green this morning in accordance with sharia law.

Imran was so pleased he's arranged for Pale Jr to marry his cousin Jasmina from Peshawar and has paid me 3 goats. Naturally her parents, grandparents and 45 siblings will be moving in with us.

Pale Jr is just hoping she's not a minger.

Inshallah.
