Quite so.
Nothing like a Hilary with her twelve fingers gripped firmly round a piece of willow.
Head guard on, padded up like a Canadian ice hockey player, sweating profusely with a box on to protect her cock.
It makes the veiny hotdog stand to attention my good fellow.

I'm about to explode in my jodhpurs just thinking about it.
Twelve fingers

Won't be watching myself.

The game's gone mad.

Oh for the days of 25 runs in a session, a decent forward defensive stroke and Pimms in the marquee discussing how the government were going to dispatch Fuzzy-Wuzzy as humanely as possible.

Oh for the dulcet tones of John Arlott.

" There's a white fluffy clowd oer the pavilion as Freddie Trueman comes in to bowwellll"

Or the magnificent Jim Laker.

" He's gone for the big Yahoo"

Halcyon days my learned friend.

Trips to the beach with mater and pater, transistor radio in one ear listening to Test Match Special, an orange mivvi in the other hand. Fish and chips for tea. Burying the dusky kid in the sand.

That's when Britain was Great Britain.

Far gone days my good man.
None of your factor 50 suncream either, just a tub of lard smeared on your chops and off you went. If you did get burnt your parents just stuck you in a freezer
for a week. Kids paddling amongst the sewerage blissfully unaware that 50 yards further out an illegal was drowning. Candyfloss was like chewing on barbed wire, and honeycomb was like eating an old bit of breeze block.
If you caught covid then it was gone in an hour.
Of course in those days you were prone to the odd bit of typhoid, diphtheria, rabies etc, but you got over it.
And if you did find the odd limb, your mum would rap it up, take it home and make a stew.

Great times indeed my dear friend.
Love a cup of Rosey I do.

Well yes . A ball an over by the sound of it .

As an aside , can you imagine Goochie turning round to Fletcher and saying “ know what Keithy ? Think I’ll give the CC and John Player league a miss for a few weeks and go play with some chickadees. Ok ?”

Apparently Oval Invincibles beat Manchester Originals in Bints-Crick.

The winning captain was awarded a new Dyson.

Hoorah.

But seriously.

If women play cricket that's fine. But do NOT ever give it the same fucking fanfare. As in all sports in which speed, strength and explosive power are essential.

It's bollocks and a fucking box ticking exercise.

Altough Isha Guha was commentating and she'd be right up there in my book in being the recipient of the veiny hot-dog.
