COVID deaths stats vs other common death stats

You're taking a big risk Tone. You'll have the Project Fear Police on your case. Not to mention our resident prophet of doom. You should know by now the idea of people actually thinking for themselves is alien to the whole concept of Project Fear.

Good idea be interesting to see what they come up with.
In the meantime, if we take the published national statistics for deaths for the last five years and establish our baseline and then compare
last years 2020 number then the difference or increase is about 15%.
Which equates approximately to 70,000 deaths using a bit of rounding down.
Pretty sure 15% is the number, but if someone wanted to spend longer than 15 mins on the analysis and claimed 16% then I wouldn't argue. I prefer to err on the side of caution.

That won't have much influence on a percentage that doesn't include a decimal point..

Last year's excess death rate, when applied against population size was marginally worse than previous years
