Totally agree with that. As do, I suspect, the vast majority of people in the country. But Stelling isn't saying otherwise, at least not imo. He's having a pop at the thickos who infest Twitter and, among other things, abuse footballers who miss penalties. I don't go on Twitter so I can only imagine the sort of language that's used when immigration is discussed on that particular website. I think most people agree we need a sensible, grown up, debate about immigration to try and put the cork back in the bottle. And what we don't need is inarticulate, intellectually challenged low lifes stirring the pot and giving the impression that everyone who believes immigration needs controlling, and controlling NOW, is a rabid racist. They most certainly are not. But those who are happy to keep the floodgates open will point to the more, shall we say, extreme views being expressed and highlight them as being representative of mainstream thinking.

In an ideal world debate would be right however these do gooders and leftie groups are able to shout the loudest without opposition and not allow sensible discussion on these matters
People are fearful now of expressing their views on many subjects without be labelled any “ism” by these vile bullies.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this Dwayne. The hand wringers can get away with it because they use the style of twitter posting as a fucking big club to beat those who have other views over the head with. We Brits tend not to respond to a rabble and so when the twitterers use the language of the rabble the silent majority switch off,, Leaving the field open for the other side to claim the moral high ground.

One point being made asks the question that if these Dinghy dwellers are genuinely trying to escape war and persecution by risking life and limb crossing the Mediterranean or freezing to death in the back of lorries and/or containers etc then why risk all that a second time when the moment they hit the EU they are ‘safe’ ?
