A four week postponent. We can thank our chums in Hounslow, who took it on themselves to return to India to splash about and frolic in the Ganges river and wiggle their toes on home soil - freedom of a sort.Whiskyman wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 7:59 amIt seems the great Professor has now gone on record to say that we may have to vaccinate schoolkids to stop Covid wreaking further havoc. But first we have to ensure everyone over 18 is jabbed.palerider wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 7:12 am
BJ is governed by the science don't ya know.
When Whitty and Vallance, the Chuckle Brothers of the boffin world tell him they don't want to go back into the dreary box of not being in the limelight, he listens. In short they are the Mike Deans of Medicine.
The Delta variant. (We have to call it that as the Indian variant is racist), is a global killer. Look at the chaos it's caused on the sub-continent where thousands of un-vaccinated locals living cheek by jowl have croaked. It would be the same here if left unchecked. At least one person who's had both jabs may get a mild cough. We cannot take that risk.
So I'm all for the delay to Freedom Day and if I had my way I'd lock us down indefinitely, which was BJ's plan all along God bless him.
And in 2024 I know damn well where my vote will go.
Now I am no scientist but am I not correct in thinking that schoolkids seem to have been totally immune from this thing ? OK I know they can catch it and therefore pass it on, but they don't seem to suffer any ill effects. Nor, if we are to believe the good Professor's own "statistical models" which he keeps trumpeting about, do healthy people under 50, most if not all of whom have already been offered, and taken up the offer, of their jabs.
The "dreary box", as you put it, seems a very apt description.
Then it was return to Hounslow and visit chums and share stories and experiences while ,laughing and mixing and eating and laughing, All in a happy close-together mask free environment. And no returning quarrantine needed for these peeps.
They very much are on the side of the Angels...except of course, angels are usually dead people, aren't they...
