That said……. I’m very much in the neutral camp regarding DG

I neither think him as a saviour and servant nor an exploiter.
Of course he made money but so do all owners (or at least that’s the objective).
Our operational woes I lay blame at the feet of the Welsh midget.

So, I just look on DG as an old man from the East End who supported West Ham. Whilst I won’t raise a glass to his contribution to the football club as a co-owner, I will raise a glass to him as a person from my dad’s generation & backyard and as a lifelong supporter. 🍺

Whatever anyone’s thoughts are on DG, I always think it’s sad when a West Ham fan from that generation leaves us. Just feels like it’s a little piece of our history departing with them.

Regardless of what you felt about his stewardship of the club, surely no one can be happy about his passing. He always came across as a genuine and nice fella as far as I could see. May he rest in peace and condolences to his family.
