Pablo Fornals once again produced an excellent display to help Spain U21s ease past France U21s to reach the final of the U21 European Championships.

Spain were behind in the match, but an inspired performance from West Ham’s new signing helped them bounce back and run out as eventual 4-1 winners.

But how exactly did Fornals perform?

Well, he was awarded the WhoScored MOTM after tormenting the France defence the entire night.

Fornals had an 89% pass success rate throughout the 90 minutes and the average for Spain was 87%. He completed 40 passes in total, four of those being key passes, which was a match high.

He completed two dribbles in the match, which again was a match high, and won two aerial duels, and shock, again, a match high.

The Spanish midfielder produced an excellent assist for Spain’s fourth goal of the night. An outside foot cross whipped across the face of the box and Borja Mayoral was at the back post to score.

As for his defensive contribution, Fornals completed two interceptions, one block and one clearance.

Statistically, the Spaniard is the seventh best player of the whole tournament and looks a promising signing for the Hammers.

What has been apparent is his superb link-up play with the other Spanish playmakers, such as Dani Ceballos. At West Ham, he will have the luxury of playing alongside the likes of Jack Wilshere, Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson, and the thought of that excites every West Ham fan, for sure.

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
