With a third of the season already gone and currently half way through an International Break, Geo and Gonzo decided to take a look back at the season so far!

With the Hammers sitting in 13th position as it stands in the table and some promising victories against Manchester United and Everton, there has also been some considerably under par performances, a prime example being their last match, away to Huddersfield.

West Ham are currently priced at 22/1 to be relegated this year (odds via MyBettingSites.co.uk) which is a testament to how well they have started in comparison to last year, but also including how many more likely candidates there are for relegation this season.

First up for discussion was the signing of the season, with Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop and his defensive partner Fabian Balbuena, all making the shortlist with the former two remaining firmly in the thought process so far for the Hammer of the Year alongside Declan Rice.

Both Geo & Gonzo selected the same highlight of the season thus far however, on analysis of individual performances, pleasingly, there are various considerations to be had. They also run through their opinions on the performance of Manuel Pellegrini and his season with West Ham so far- after his initial 5 months in charge at the London Stadium which began with him spending £100 million, demanding the training ground is improved and bringing in Mario Husillos to oversee the transfer strategy.

Lastly the performance of the Board is inevitably discussed and while they have managed to stay off the TV, their leaking of delicate matters has disappointingly continued which appears to over shadow their summer spending, as well as the failure to hand Declan Rice his much anticipated and undoubtedly deserved new contract.

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
