The Hammers are set to swoop for young Cliftonville winger Sean Moore within the next few days. It is believed the Hammers could conclude the transfer as early as next week. And it seems that West Ham will beat Celtic to the signing of the in demand winger.

Moore was a target for a number of clubs including Celtic, Newcastle, and Brighton but he’ll join West Ham instead. It is understood the youngster made his decision following our FA Youth Cup success earlier this season.

West Ham have beaten Celtic to sign in demand winger Sean Moore

Moore is one of the most talked about players in the Ireland winning Young Player of the Year prizes at the NI Football Awards and Ulster Footballer of the Year Awards.

The Belfast Telegraph outlined that Cliftonville were set to receive an initial fee of around £175,000. It is possible the club could make as much as £550,000 with add-ons relating to the likes of first-team appearances.

Whilst it’s easy to dismiss the prospect of David Moyes utilising a playing like Moore he does have form. Seamus Coleman was purchased as a relative unknown for Everton but Moyes played him in the Premier League regularly.

Rebuild required

With another rebuild required at The London Stadium, the club could be looking to bolster the squad cheaply. There is another campaign in Europe so a big squad will be necessary. Hopefully some of the young academy players will be given a chance to prove their worth.

Moore has also been a wanted man on the international scene, choosing the Republic of Ireland over Northern Ireland.

The Hammers of course have another young forward from Northern Ireland in the shape of Callum Marshall. The young striker has bags of ability and looked a class act as West Ham romped to victory in the FA Youth Cup final against Arsenal.

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
