West Ham and Valencia have both today had £29m bids accepted for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez, according to Sky Sports.

The Hammers made the Uruguayan their top target at the beginning of the transfer window and is a player Manuel Pellegrini admires greatly.

He scored 13 goals last season in a struggling Celta Vigo side and would be a welcome addition to West Ham should he choose to join them over Valencia.

It is now up to the player himself whether he wants to play Champions League football at Valencia next season or if he prefers a choice of living in London and playing at London Stadium.

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
