Football fluke or perfect Moyesball?
Everton 1-3 West Ham
What a wild ride that game turned out to be. Who could’ve guessed we’d steal a win after the rocky start we had? Moyesball really came through at the end but I’m not entirely sure how planned it was.
For a good chunk of that match, I was incredibly frustrated and concerned. Our defence was all over the place, and relying on Areola to bail us out time and again wasn’t exactly Plan A… or was it? It felt like we were getting away with highway robbery at times.
In the first half, we were hanging on by a thread. Everton had us on the ropes, and without Areola’s heroics, we could’ve easily been on the losing end. That penalty save? Absolute game-changer. And Souček’s screamer? Talk about a momentum shift!
But let’s give credit where it’s due. Moyes might have had us scratching our heads with his tactics, but hey, it’s the result that counts in the end. Sitting in seventh place? I can’t say that I’m entirely sure how it’s happened but other Premier League results went our way too.
The late-game heroics from West Ham were nothing short of spectacular. Beto opened the scoring for Everton, but Zouma’s equalizer set the stage for Souček’s moment of brilliance. That volley was pure magic, and Alvarez’s goal just sealed the deal.
This win speaks volumes about West Ham’s grit and determination this season. And those goals? Pure class. Zouma’s header was pinpoint, Souček’s strike was out of this world, and Alvarez? Well, he’s quickly becoming our most reliable player. Perhaps not up to Rice’s standards just yet but I’m glad we have him.
