My names Terry, I’m 35 and for my sins, I’ve supported West Ham all my life. I love my club. Always have done, always will. My old man drummed it into me from as early as I can remember that I’d be a Hammer and from that 1st moment I walked up the Barking Road from Canning Town towards the famous Boylen Ground, I was hooked…..

Now one of main things I loved about West Ham, even to this day in the new stadium , were the people I had around me. The supporters. The like minded men, women and children all with the same hopes, dreams and aspirations for OUR team. All equal. No one more superior than the next person regardless of age, race or the amount of games they attended each season. There of course would always be a difference of opinion but our loyalty and commitment would never be in doubt.

I find it quite bizarre some of the things I’ve heard and read of late coming from our supporters. Our club is currently under a huge dark cloud and has been for quite a while now and I fear we’ve now reached boiling point. Yes the form on the pitch has been poor. Yes we should have never left the Boylen Ground. Yes we are all spilt on whether the board are doing a good job or not but amongst all this uncertainty remains the one constant that will never change… US. The Fans.

So when I read our supporters calling each other out for not being “True Fans” just because they have a different opinion or might not attend as many games as their fellow hammer, in all honesty, its breaks my heart. This to me is not what supporting West Ham is about. We need to stick together during these uncertain times. Just because a person may not go to away games or even home games for that matter, does not make them any less superior than you or I.

The club is rotten from top to bottom . Mistakes have been made. The majority of this rot is out of our hands but the one thing we can control is the respect we show each other. So instead of being at each other’s throats and throwing insults around on social media, how about we stick together? At the end of the day, we all want what’s best for West Ham. We are all hurting the same. Some of our fan base has become embarrassing with their comments to one another, words I thought I would never say about my fellow hammers. So can we please think before we speak or type and remember WE ARE WEST HAM. We stick together through thick and thin.

Come on You Irons….
