As the club are set to start their pre-season training at the beginning of July, we take a look at the friendlies West Ham have coming up.

Our first pre-season match is a trip to Austrian side SCR Altach on 11 July. Manuel Pellegrini took the squad to Austria last year to improve the fitness levels of the players and get them prepared to compete for 90 minutes.

We then fly to China to play in the Premier League Asia trophy against Manchester City on 17 July. The winner of that match will play the winner of Wolves v Newcastle, while both losers will compete in a third-place play-off match on July 20.

A week later on July 27th, we return to London and visit Craven cottage as Fulham host us before we play in the Betway cup at London stadium against Athletic Bilbao on 3 August.

You can expect to see our new signings and current squad alongside a few youth players. As it stands, nobody’s position is safe, so come the start of the season, there could be a few shock debuts.

Full list of friendlies:

Manchester City (Neutral) 17 July 19

Final/third-place play-off (Neutral) 20 July 19

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
