Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic could be the perfect player for West Ham if they choose to swap Declan RicePulisic perfect for West Ham

Much has been made of the mystery swap player who could be used as a makeweight for Declan Rice. My own opinion is that Christian Pulisic would be perfect for West Ham given his pace and direct running.

I have been less than convinced with the Hammers left side for a couple of seasons now. Pablo Fornals is no winger and I’m still uncertain the left is Said Benrahma’s best position. Maxwel Cornet has featured so infrequently for West Ham that I barely even consider him to be a Hammers player.

I believe the whole squad lacks pace in general but this is even more of a hindrance at West Ham where our counter attack relies upon a swift transition. Quite frankly I’m baffled why Manager David Moyes hasn’t recruited more players who suit his style. I won’t get started on the Scamacca issue again but his team would certainly benefit from pace in the front three.

He ain’t hanging about!

That brings us nicely on to Pulisic who is built (and runs) like a greyhound. He’s American so almost speaks English, and I think that he’s been completely underused by Chelsea. Pulisic’s paucity of appearances are no reflection on him of course. The West London plastics have more wingers than Watford have had managers so it’s difficult for anyone to get a run of games.

If West Ham were seriously considering accepting a player in part exchange for Declan Rice, Christian Pulisic would be my No1.

Quite how much he’d be valued at in such a deal is anyone’s guess? Chelsea paid Dortmund £58M for the player but he’s certainly not worth half a Declan Rice.

I guess it’s all irrelevant anyway if the player doesn’t want to come to the London Stadium. However, he might just fancy a bit of European football at a proper club.

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
