Numerous reports in the sports news media are suggesting West Ham United are interested in Fulham manager Marco Silva.

The former Hull City and Everton boss, once dubbed mini Mourinho, has impressed on Fulham’s return to the Premier League this season. The Portuguese manager has been exceeding all expectations despite some losing key players. It’s fair to say the West London club were amongst the favourites for relegation from the EPL, but Silva has kept them up with room to spare.

West Ham want Marco Silva to replace David Moyes

Despite owner Shahid Khan’s desire to keep his manager at Craven Cottage. It is believed his contract contains a £6 million compensation release clause. This has apparently alerted West Ham owner David Sullivan who is thinking seriously about replacing David Moyes at the end of the current campaign.

The compensation fee would seem excessive given that Silva’s contract has little over a year to run. Candidates such as Brendan Rodgers are available for nothing which could prove more tempting for the Hammers ownership.

Much will rely on David Moyes finishing the season strongly with West Ham. They remain in contention to reach the UEFA Europa Conference League final at the end of the season.
