As we all know, the whole Samir Nasri transfer has become very controversial. In my opinion I can see it being an exciting transfer! The fact that he has been very successful playing under Pellegrini in the past is something that excites me.

However most of what I have been reading on Twitter etc has been the opposite. Obviously his fitness is a big worry (typical West Ham, ay!) But I maintain the optimism that once fit he would bring a lot more energy and creativity back in to our midfield. At the age of 31 I understand he is no spring chicken, funnily enough I was involved in a conversation on Twitter today about this. A few fans were complaining that West Ham do this a lot, signing players that are ‘too old’ and should be using a scouting network to be finding young, fresher players.

This I do agree with, youth is the future, FACT! However, the Nasri signing is clearly a player to bring in to tide us over while Yarmolenko is out and until Lanzini is back fighting fit. I say give the guy a chance! It’s a short term contract, we need experience and creativity.

Samir Nasri, I hope you excel in your time here! If the transfer goes ahead of course.
