West Ham 1 Liverpool 1 – Review in Stats

Liverpool had a massive advantage in terms of possession with 73% against our 27%.

But our tactics kept the territory a lot closer at 53%-47% in Liverpool’s advantage.

We created 8 chances and Liverpool 9.

Our total shots were the higher with 13 against 11 by Liverpool.

However we only had 2 on target compared to 6 by Liverpool

As the territory shows we allowed Liverpool to keep possession in their own half and in doing so Liverpool completed  a massive 583 passes out of 691. Giving them 84% pass completion.

West Ham completed just 64% of passes, 157 out of 244 as our passing was more rushed to break quickly.

In the penalty are we did better completing 8 from 12 passes.

Anderson completed the most passes for us with 29 from 35 passes attempted.

Snodgrass had the highest pass completion % at 83% just in front of Anderson.

Again quite a few of our pass completion % were lower than normal as we had a fast counter attack stategy.

Anderson and Snodgrass had the best of our pass combinations with 27 passes in both directions.

Fabianski to Antonio was also quite key.

No surprise that Anderson had our best attacking stats including creating 4 chances and 12 completed passes in the attacking third.

Rice with 13 recoveries.

Unusually a midfielder was top of our defensive stats. Rice including 8 completed tackles.

Fredericks with 7 clearances equal with Ogbonna.

Stats Man of the Match (in my opinion)

Declan Rice – 8 completed tackles, 13 recoveries, although it could also easily be Anderson.
