Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente has emerged as a target for West Ham.

As Manuel Pellegrini starts to gel his West Ham side for his second season in charge, we see ourselves being linked with so many different players.

It is clear to see up front is an area we need to strengthen. With Andy Carroll being released and Lucas Perez departing for Spanish side Deportivo Alavés, West Ham are a little light going forward.

While Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez is the top forward target, we also need to be looking for some squad players – players that can fill a void when injuries occur. One of those players being linked to us is Llorente.

The Spaniard, who had an excellent career at Athletic Bilbao, and one excellent season with Swansea, where he scored 15 goals in an underachieving side, could be a savvy bit of business for Pellegrini, or could it?

His last two seasons with Spurs have been somewhat underwhelming, netting just twice in 36 appearances in the Premier league. At 34-years-old, he is hardly a spring chicken and personally I believe we could do much better if we shopped around a little more, but time will tell.

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
