The new 3rd kit was unveiled today with a promotional video on the Official West Ham Website.

It would appear the leaks during the last week or so seem to have been correct. The club have gone for a light grey shirt with diagonal claret and blue graphics across the shoulders.  It has light grey shorts with the same type of claret and blue graphic. The kit is complete with sky blue socks. I am assuming the kit is like that blue and black / white and gold dress as I see it as white not light grey!

HISTORY

The new kit is based loosely on our 3rd kit from 1991-93 as below. A time when a replica kit lasted more than a season. Thankfully they didnt go with the band behind the sponsor!

It pays homage to our 1992/93 season when the team won promotion from the 1st Division (as it was called then) to the Premiership. That squad featured players such as Julian Dicks, Kevin Keen, Trevor Morley, Steve Potts (Hammer of the Year that season), Tony Gale, Mark Robson, Tim Breacker, Peter Butler, Alvin Martin, Martin and Clive Allen. Oh, and David Speedie!

COST

It costs £55 for the short-sleeved version and an extra £15 for name and number. Shorts £28 and Socks £15. Meaning a full new 3rd kit will set back an adult £98.00 without any name or number. It’s £113 with a name and number. And if you really want to look the part (full kit w**ker) and get the Premier League sleeve badge, it’ll set you back £118.

A full new 3rd kit for a child is £80 without any name or number. £95 with a name and number and £100 to include the badges. For just the shirt it’s costing £45 for the short-sleeved version, an extra £15 for name and number and the £5 for the badge. Shorts £23 and socks £12.

I have noticed in the shop there is a shirt for Under 18’s which costs the same as an adult shirt at £55. There doesn’t appear to be any shorts and socks for this age group however I would assume the adult shorts and socks sizes would fit an Under 18. In fact, it would appear the Adult shirt sizes match the Under 18 shirt sizes. It makes you question why anyone would purchase this shirt with no sponsor on it. It is not a ‘replica’ kit!

So that’s all our kits unveiled for the coming season. The eagerly anticipated part of pre-season is now complete. Lets get this season started!

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬
